Robert Tayac
Robert Tayac has been an attorney since 1994 and has more than nineteen years of experience practicing law. He has specialized in representing good people accused of driving under the influence for more than two decades. Born and raised in San Francisco, Mr. Tayac graduated from the University of California at Davis. After graduating, Mr. Tayac entered the San Francisco Police Department where he served with distinction and was promoted to the rank of Inspector. He received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for Law Review.
Additionally, Mr. Tayac is a former staff attorney for Appellate Defenders where he represented people convicted of criminal offenses before the California Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court. He has successfully defended clients in driving under the influence cases in the San Francisco Bay Area including the counties of San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma. He is a present or former member of numerous professional associations whose focus includes driving under the influence defense, including the National College for DUI Defense, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Life Member), California DUI Lawyers' Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (Life Member), and California Public Defenders Association.
Mr. Tayac coauthored the Fourth Edition of California Drunk Driving Defense and the annual supplements to the Third Edition and the Fourth Edition of that practice guide published by West Publishers.
Mr. Tayac is licensed to practice and has practiced before the California Superior Court, California Court of Appeal and California Supreme Court. As well, Mr. Tayac is licensed to practice before the Federal Courts of the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California and the Ninth District Court of Appeals.
